Dancers After Dark X Jordan Matter

In Autumn 2016, a new book by talented American photographer Jordan Matter whom we know mainly for its successful project “Dancers Among Us”, will go on sale.

After five years of working long nights in different cities of the United States, Matter pays tribute to the passion and commitment of hundreds of professional dancers who voluntarily participated in this journey. A project in which dancers and the photographer, follow their instincts and show their skills to capture a fragile moment.

Years of hard work turns a dancer’s body into a living sculpture, with precise movements and complicated positions. It is a visual feast, a game of lights and shadows that enhances nude figures in an urban space contrasting emotions of fear, loneliness and threatens the beauty of the darkness of night.

BE ALIVE

“I put them in night because that’s when we dream but that’s also when we are most vulnerable “
