Menswear, forever.

Don’t you love menswear? No, seriously. Don’t you just love a well-dressed man? But, what is a well-dressed man? There’s an endless list of possible answers to that question so we’ll just leave it open. Now, picture a menswear exhibition at a museum. Simply irresistible, right? Well, now, thanks to the V&A and Gucci, your dreams have come true.

“Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear,” which opened last week, aims to celebrate the power, art and diversity behind menswear collections that have been designed and praised throughout the years. Curated by Claire Wilcox, Rosalind McKever and Marta Franceschini is divided in three sections: Undressed, Overdressed and Redressed. More than 100 looks and 100 works of art have been set up throughout the spaces.

On the show, Wilcox and McKever say: “The show puts different historic and contemporary visions together that reveal how masculinity has been expressed. This is a celebration of menswear and everyone’s invited.” Besides Gucci, some of the other featured designers and brands include Grace Wales Bonner, Raf Simons, Haider Ackermann and Christian Siriano, Craig Green and more.

“Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear” will be open until November 6, 2022.
