Visual Report: LGN Louis-Gabriel Nouchi – Autumn 2021

LGN LOUIS-GABRIEL NOUCHI →

Influenced by literature, LGN Louis-Gabriel Nouchi Autumn Winter 2021 collection is inspired by Franz Kafka’s novel The Trial. The posthumous novel of the writer recounts the misadventures of Joseph K. who wakes up one morning and, for some obscure reason, is arrested and subjected to the rigors of justice.

Neutral colors create a cold and administrative office atmosphere. Black and ecru, the classic court codes, are associated with shades of camel and blue ash grey. The smoky green is reminiscent of the neon light that characterizes the atmosphere of the waiting rooms. The geometric shapes are inspired by the pieces described in Franz Kafka’s book: strict costumes, clean men’s vests, fluid white shirts. The cuts are wide and comfortable as if to find the essential comfort in the endless queues.

These new uniforms allow men to face work both inside and out of the home. The elegant joggers allow an ambivalence of use. The mesh, a signature technique of the house, is inspired by the felts and carpets that dress these places of passages. It contrasts with the suppleness of fabrics and creates structured clothing with sportswear constructions. The asymmetrical opening at the necks, the second signature of the brand, crosses the entire collection. For coats and shirts, they serve as access to the inside pocket and for pants, they are drawn at the waist in new pockets.

Concerned by the social repercussions affecting the performing world in particular Louis-Gabriel Nouchi wishes to celebrate the world of dance through a choreography of the Sohrab Chitan Company and music by Sara Zinger. In a game of mirrors with infinite reflections, they recreate crowd images and put the human and the living body at the center of our intentions
