A few months ago the social networks exploded with the release of one of the best kept secrets of the fashion calendar: Balmain is the brand that will collaborate with H&M this 2015 for its famous designer capsule collection.
We saw a first glimpse of the collection during the Billboard Music Awards, when the creative director and fashion wunderkind Olivier Rousteing arrived with Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn to the red carpet of the awards in Las Vegas. The 3 of them wore outfits that are part of the highly expected collection and we realized that Rousteing had translated the aesthetic that he has pumped into the legendary French house to the pieces of the Swedish fashion giant.
As the launch date approaches we have seen some more pieces of the Women’s collection but it’s until now that we can finally see pieces from the Men’s collection and the result is amazing. We are seeing iconic Balmain pieces, but in an infinitely more accessible version. Details like gold buttons are there, the materials such as leather and military accents remind us of the designer’s past collections at the French fashion house but also complement the idea of the army Rousteing wants to create. A very select group where we can find some of the most important celebrities and artists today such as Kanye West, Taylor Swift and the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
We’ve said it once and now we reaffirm it: We need November 5 to come already so we can join the #HMBalmainNation
