Concept Korea
On the second day of Pitti Uomo, the Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery teamed up for a new collaboration with Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and showed 2 of the most exciting brands from South Korea, promoting the country’s talented young designers. In this edition we saw the collections by Bmuet(te) and Beyond Closet.
BMUET(TE) by Byung-mun Seo & Ji-na Um is a ready-to-wear designer label with a distinctive twist established in 2012. Their collections aim for garments with an unconventional structure derived from a creative juxtaposition of diverse constructions.
Beyond Closet by Taeyong Ko, is based on American Classic and preppy style, and strives to create new outfits and reinterpret timeless styles. The pieces use a mix of graphics and patterns with various vibrant colors.
Les Benjamins
Teatro Niccolini was the perfect spot for the Istanbul-based streetwear brand to showcase their collection. Founder and creative director Bunyamin Aydin is known for telling stories about cultures and traditions, defining the hybrid territory between culture and comfort. The collection titled “The ancient skyscrapers at night” spoke about the contrast between today’s architectural structures and the past.
The presentation followed a style we had previously seen at shows like the latest Yeezy collection by Kayne West. People were left wondering what to expect and the guests were allowed to walk around the models that stood still like living statues.
Eton
For this edition of Pitti Uomo, Eton decided not to do a fashion show. Instead the creative director of the Swedish brand, Sebastian Dollinger, gave an intimate presentation with 5 models where he shared his vision on the way they trademark their shirts. An Eton shirt is not just a shirt it’s a way of living. Dollinger also took us in a trip to Kyoto, with the heavily Japanese influenced collection.
After the presentation guests were delighted with a cocktail party in the beautiful building that was once part of the Palazzo delle Seggiole dating back to the period of the Medici’s.
Guest Nation: Finland Party at Palazzo Borghese
On the occasion of Pitti Imagine Uomo 93 the Chairman of the Fondazione Pitti Imagine Discovery, Andrea Cavicchi and the Ambassador of Finland, Janne Taalas invited a selection of guests to a party at the impressive Palazzo Borghese. The exclusive cocktail featured drinks by Kyrö Distillery and catering by the chef from the Embassy of Finland.
