For the last 300 years, the fashion industry has experienced great, wonderful and tragic changes too. All of these situations have permitted the different elements that define fashion to develop and to leave a legacy in history. One of these elements is menswear. After realizing it was a very important topic to explore, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art introduced Reigning Men: Fashion In Menswear, 1715-2015.
Considered as one of the best and most exquisite menswear exhibitions in the last years, Reigning Men examines 200 looks celebrating the rich history of fashion for men. Beginning with the 19th century until recent years, Reigning Men explores the very different stages in time that have helped define men’s style.
With pieces from Raf Simons, Hedi Slimane for Yves Saint Laurent, Musashiya, Rick Owens, Tom Ford and Jean Paul Gaultier, among others, the exhibition’s main goal is to establish a strong connection between world history and the unstoppable fashion industry.
